There will be more than 30 craft vendors in attendance, showcasing their products including: clothing, blankets, rugs, yarn, looms, spinning wheels, crafts, soaps, patterns, and more.

Our Fiber Festival is a great educational experience for visitors to learn how animals contribute to the fiber industry through live displays of alpacas, sheep, goats, rabbits and more!

PREVIOUS FESTIVALS:

In past years, this two-day, family-friendly event features shopping, exhibits, classes, music, food, petting zoo and interactive kids' activities all on a hilltop overlooking the stunning Palouse... On the Grazing Hills Alpaca Ranch,

More than 40 artisan vendors will showcase their work including accessories, clothing, quilts, blankets, rugs, yarn, looms, spinning wheels, crafts, soaps and patterns.

We are changing it up and relocating to the Latah County Fairgrounds!

We have outgrown our current venue and needed more parking, A/C, and just some other amenities to make our Festival even better! We can't wait!

HOW WE STARTED:

A family owned and operated alpaca farm located in Viola, Idaho, Grazing Hills is settled in the rolling hills of the Palouse.  Katie DeWinkle, her entourage of 6 daughters and her easy-going husband, Cory, manage and run their farm, the Country Store and their B&B. They currently raise over 50 huacaya alpacas, sheep, ducks, chickens, cows, and a few horses.

The idea behind the Grazing Hills Fiber Festival began in 2018, with the help of her friend, Christine Nauman of Wooly Pines Farm in Moscow.  It took shape and was launched in July 2019, again in July 2020, even during the COVID madness! Then again in 2021 during a terrible heat and smoke wave, but still had over 2000 people attend!

So, for 2022 we decided to take a break and re-assess.

We strive to continue the event each July and build upon our mistakes and successes. We have been blessed with wonderful vendors, talented artists and teachers, and a great turnout of attendees the past 3 years.

We hope to continue that and have another successful Festival July 2023 at the Latah County Fairgrounds!
